Specialty Teachers

I have been a member of St. Pius X parrish for over twenty years. I graduated from Midland High School in Midland, Texas and from Northeastern State University. I am now coaching the Middle School Academic Bowl teams. I have been married to Danny Margerum for the past 37 years and have lived in Tulsa the entire time. We have one daughter, Casey and one grandchild, Bryce. Casey is a St. Pius graduate and Bryce is currently attending St. Pius.

I graduated from the University of Wiscosin with an art comprehensive degree, and started teaching Art at St. Pius in 1991.  I teach K through 8th grade, but have taught to children in preschool and college.  In addition, I have taught adult night art classes.  I have two children, a son-in-law, one grandson and one on the way.  Catholic Education has been a part of my family as both my children have attended St. Pius and Bishop Kelley. 

I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico.  I am a graduate of the University of Autonoma of Guadalajara.  I am married and have three daughters.  I am the Spanish teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grade.  My husband is a Deacon for St. Pius X and we really love this school. 

My name is Therese Iten, I am the Elementary School librarian.  I have a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma.  I am also a proud graduate of St. Pius X School and Bishop Kelley High School.  I have taught Pre-K, 1st grade, and 3rd grade.  I love to read and am thankful for the opportunity to work in our Elementary Library.

I was born February 1st in Coffeyville, Kansas and attended Catholic elementary and high schools in Chicago, Illinois.  Our family was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma after high school and I attended the University of Tulsa receiving a Psychology Degree.  In addition, I have taken several computer courses at TCC, the University of Tulsa, and the Eighth Floor Technology Center.  I am currently teaching grades 1st - 8th in the Math/Science/Technolgoy Lab.  It has been my honor and privilege to be a member of the St. Pius X School faculty for 31 years.  I have two daughters, Marla and Melissa, and three grandchildren.

I am a graduate of the University of Tulsa with degrees in English and education.  I taught early childhood students for many years prior to working in the tutoring center at St. Pius X.  My husband Drew and I have been married for 15 years and are active members of the St. Pius X community.  Our three sons currently attend St. Pius as did their father, aunts and uncles.  We hope they will soon follow their dad's footsteps to Bishop Kelley High School.  I am truly grateful to be working with caring teachers and staff that make up the St. Pius school community. 

I graduated from Blackwell High School in Blackwell, Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa.  My husband Mike and I are members of St. Pius X Church.  We have 3 children who graduated from St. Pius X School; John Scott, Brooke and Jamie.  Our son, John Scott is married to Tiara and lives in Omaha.  They have 3 children:  James (6), Regan (4), and John Caden (1).

My name is Yonah Black and I received a Bachelors of Music Education at Oral Roberts University, with emphasis in Vocal and Piano Performance, and received a minor in Worship Leadership from ORU.  Before joining St. Pius X, I taught the last 5 years for Tulsa Public Schools as a Music teacher for approximately 600 Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade students.  I have also taught Voice and Music Theory at Victory Bible Institute.  I am a worship leader at Victory Christian Center for the services as well as for women's conference and connect groups, as well as teaching piano and voice privately.  This will be my 5th year as an instructor for Excell Music.
